• JHTA arranges your participation in TRADE and PROMOTIONAL EVENTS, thus giving you exposure in the INTERNATIONAL MARKET.
• JHTA organizes the annual JAPEX trade show, Jamaica’s premier marketing event, providing a cost effective and efficient medium for wholesalers and tour operators to meet and conduct business with members.
• JHTA LOBBIES the Government and its agencies as well as local, regional and international organizations to promote and safeguard your interests.
• JHTA REPRESENTS its membership and the tourism industry at large on relevant government and private sector boards and committees, locally and regionally.
• Our members are provided with up-to-date information on local and international developments, which will have an impact on the tourism industry.
• JHTA obtains legal and professional opinions and advice on issues, which are of concern to our members.
• JHTA operates a Human Resources Management System for the entire tourism industry of Jamaica, which facilitates labour exchange throughout the sector.
• JHTA helps its members to improve the expertise and efficiency of their staff through training courses and seminars.
• JHTA publishes Destination Jamaica the visitor magazine used by the Jamaica Tourist Board and JHTA members in promoting Jamaica. This publication provides a complete guide to Jamaica and is placed in the rooms of member hotels.
• JHTA assists members to implement environmental management systems (EMS) and achieve international certification.
• JHTA holds membership in the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA) which provides:
• The bi-monthly "CHAdvance", the CHA newsletter containing regional tourism news and other information and stimulating viewpoints;
• The annual Marketplace trade show 
• The annual Caribbean Hotel Industry Conference (CHIC). This includes workshops and seminars with presentations by leading international and regional experts, as well as a major trade exhibition.
