1st VP; Carol Marcia Bourke, Managing Director, Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa and Jewel Resorts

Carol Marcia Bourke, Managing Director, Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa and Jewel Resorts ( a complement of (4) four all inclusive resorts) was born in England but moved to Jamaica when she was only 7 years old with her Jamaican father and English Mother. Her tourism journey began as a child when she was exposed to the Hospitality industry through her Mother who worked at Runaway Bay Hotel for many years.

In 1984 Carol officially joined the Hotel Industry as an Entertainment Coordinator with the infamous Hedonism II. Since that initial start she has accomplished many firsts including leading Seasplash Resort in Negril to be the first hotel to be Green Globe certified, being the first Jamaican Resident Manager at Wyndham Rose Hall and the first General Manager of the new Jewel Resorts brand in Jamaica which opened in 2010. Under her stewardship the resorts have grown in strength and number and have achieved many awards over its 8 years and with it her role to be Managing Director.

Her sense of corporate and social responsibility has seen all the resorts participation in community and recycling efforts, environmental projects, wellness and health fairs and many other activities with the help of her associates throughout the five properties. Carol possesses a distinctive blend of business acumen and social consciousness and has been a force in the lives of her associates, where she ensures they are developed and groomed for success.

As Managing Director of Jewel Resorts and Hilton Rose Hall, Carol presently serves as a director on the board of Red Stripe Jamaica Limited and is 1st Vice President of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association. She also served as a Director of Tourist Product Development Company until February 2016 and was Chairman of the Audit Committee until that time. Carol received an award from her peers in 2016 when she was celebrated as the Hotelier of the Year Award.

Married to Richard and the mother of Samantha, Carol is passionate about the hotel industry and motivated to continue blazing her path of continued success.

2nd VP; Vana Taylor

Ms. Vana Taylor has worked in the Tourism Industry for many years and has held several management positions. In 1983 she started her first company, Sunflower Villas which she still operates to date and also manages and operates Fisherman's Point and Skycastles in Ocho Rios.

She has been a Council Member of the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association for several years and Area Chairman for the Ocho Rios/Runaway Bay Chapter. She has served as 3rd and 4th Vice President of the Association for the past five years and serves as Chairman of the Allied and Product and Energy Committees.

Ms. Taylor has a wealth of experience in the Hospitality Industry and currently serves as the Chairman of the Jamaica Association of Villas Apartments. This Association has been representing the Tourism sector for over fifty years.

Over the years at various times she has been a member of several boards and has chaired several committees. She is presently a board member of the Tourism Product Development Company and chairs the Product Quality/Tourism Training Sub-Committee, and Second Vice president of the St. Ann Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. Taylor is a devoted Catholic and Lay Leader, has received a papal award in October 2009 for service to the Roman Catholic Church in Jamaica, a Justice of the Peace and received a Badge of Honour from the Government in 2001 for her services to the Community and Tourism.

3rd VP; Robert Headley - Sandy Haven Resort Luxury Boutique

Robert Headley, General Manager, Sandy Haven Luxury Boutique Resort (a 33 room Gem in Negril) was born in Stonehenge; a small farming village on the outskirts of St. James Jamaica, but grew up in the tourism city of Montego Bay. Despite studying Engineering at Herbert Morrison High School, Montego Bay Community College and C.A.S.T. now UTECH; His calling to tourism was inevitable as both parents worked in the industry.

In 1993 Robert joined the Hotel Industry in the Concierge Department stocking mini bars at Sandals Royal Caribbean. He used the salary from that modest job to assist his parents in paying his way through college, where he changed major from Engineering to Hotel and Resort Management at the University of Technology. After graduation he was recruited by Half Moon as a Mini Bar Supervisor, He was promoted in six months to Bar Supervisor and six months later to Bar and Events Coordinator.

Two years later Robert was recruited by Sandals Resorts as Assistant F&B Manager. During his 6 years with Sandals Robert created a niche where he was sent to varied properties (9 in total) to work within the chain. His desire to learn more in the industry saw him joining Margaritaville Caribbean where he did stints in Ocho Rios and the Cayman Islands as Assistant General Manager and eventually General Manager in Negril for 5 years. His desire to learn even more saw him joining Cool Runnings as operations manager and then The Tryall Club first as Operations Manager then later as Director of Operations for a further 5 years.

Robert credits his success in the industry to the guidance of the Church in his early years and the many larger than life hotel figures from his youth up to the present, Earl Foster, Peter Fraser, Horace Peterkin, Armando Pizzuti, Glenn Lawrence, Marylyn Warner, Wayne Cummings, Nicola Madden-Gregg, Omar Robinson, Vana Taylor, Shernette Crichton and Antoinette Chen.

In turn Robert aspires to pay it forward with service to the next generation with guidance from his vast experience across the diverse sectors of his career. His passion is service and he aspires to give all that he has learnt to whomever will seek it.

His largest motivator is his 3 children Robert Jnr, Dylon and Arya. And his mantra is "Never put off for tomorrow what you can do today". "Knowledge is the acquisition of information and Wisdom is the application of information" -Robert D. Headley

4th VP; Mr Christopher Jarrett - Altamont Hotels

Christopher Jarrett, CEO and Managing Director of Altamont Hotels, started his eventual journey into the hospitality industry, with an unlikely degree in Engineering Technology and later on, an MBA and along the way, gained certification as a chef and is also a certified and licensed lifeguard. He has worked from the ground up in his family owned and operated hotel business starting with Altamont Court hotel in Kingston and later adding Altamont West on Montego Bay's "Hip Strip"

He is a Director of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, presently serving in the capacity of Honorary Secretary and is Chairman of the JHTA Kingston Chapter, Co-Chair of Kingston City Marathon (notably the first internationally certified marathon course in Kingston) and serves on the Board of Directors of TPDCo.

Chris is married to Nicole and together they have two daughters.
