Nineteen finalists vied for top prizes and the honour of being named National Individual and Organisation Champion at the glitzy Tourism Service Excellence Awards dinner at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Rose Hall on Saturday.
The award is geared towards promoting performance excellence within Jamaica's tourism industry and seeks to recognise and reward tourism entities that continually train and motivate staff to achieve excellence in customer service delivery. It also rewards individual workers who exemplify and surpass high customer service delivery standards.
Finalists are chosen from Jamaica's six resort areas and vie for top prizes in the resort category, and then move on for the ultimate title as National Individual Champion and National Organisation Champion.
Half Moon was adjudged the National Organisation winners, while its employee Conroy Thompson copped the National Individual Champion title.
